Venus was believed to be the Goddess of Love and Beauty. Venus was the daughter of Jupiter and Dione. Venus was the wife of Vulcan. Among her many lovers were Mars, the god of war and the shepard Adonis. Venus and Mercury was the mother and father of Cupid, the god of love.
